Offshore Medical Requirements

I am 46 years old and want to apply to get work on the rigs. I am happy to pay for all the courses required to make my chances better. The only thing that bothers me is the medical. I have good health. although in my past I have been to the doctors for things like a sore knee and back, the usual things that maybe most men of my age suffer with. I am okay now but will an employer take one look at this and throw my application out. I dont want to waste time and money, please can you give me any advise. Many thanks.

ANSWER

Its thorough and depends where you work, North Sea is tough , many are also company medicals, it will save you a lot of money if you go have a basic employment medical yourself before you do courses, doesnt sound like too much wrong
