motor problems

i have a bass tracker with a 50 hp mercury two stroke.i was in the river goin full speed and the rpms dropped down to 3000 which is suppose to be around 5000. the boat would not go over 3000 with full throttle and wouldnt plane out. when i got home i hooked the ear muffs to the engine and it ran fine but when i took it back to the river it would not get over 3000 rpms. i believe it has something to do with the propeller part of the engine. need help asap |
