Recently purchased a sweetwater 220 with a 40 hp merc on it. I had cavitation issues and installed a "whale tail" and it made a decent difference. I wasnt breaking any speed records but it was doing ok. Last week when out the rpms wouldnt go past 3500-4000 roughly. No increase in rpms after half throttle up to wot. Today I replaced all of the plugs. Old ones were really rough and I checked and cleared the particle filter in the tank as the siphon ball didnt firm up and seemed to be only giving a half squeeze if that makes sense. Will be replacing the ball and changing fuel filter. Any other suggestions?
