Just looking to purchase a fresh rebuild 1996 25hp Mercury tiller handle, short shaft, electric/pull start, manual tilt and wanted to see what type problems these motors have. I try to use it for a flooded timber duck boat. I had a 2011 Evinrude Etec but had problems with it sucking trash in the cooling system and leaving me stranded. My buddy always had older models (1996 maybe) Mercury's and never seemed to have that many problems. Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!
