while motoring yesterday engine starting making some really strange grinding noises then shut down as if locked up. Able to restart but when I increased speed engine started again to make the grinding noises and stopped . Finally called Sea tow. This morning pulled boat from water and made a visible exam to see if there were any obvious damages. All looked fine. Started engine and let it run for awhile without hearing any strange noises. Later returned and started engine and it sounded great until I increased engine speed and then it began to clatter and then came to an immediate dead stop????????
