After running for a while at near full throttle a continuous alarm goes off (which according to my manual indicates overheating) but according to my gage it is not hot, it is mid range of the gauge at warm. So I slow to an idle with the boat in gear and as it cools down according to the gauge, the alarm still sounds even though the engine seems to be cool. After the engine cools down completely the alarm will go off.
