Mercury 150 XR6 outboard 2005 model

Water stopped coming out of tele tail port. Alarm comes in after engine warms up. Installed new impeller. Still no water from tail tell port. Removed thermostat and noticed no water getting into engine. Intake appears to be clean. Can there be something from the intake up to the water pump?

Every year I have to clean out the tubing under the cowl associated with the tell tail water port. I always find some insect is living in it.

I installed the new thermostats yesterday evening and after about a minute of running water poured out it the tail tell port just the way it should have. Hallelujah. However my warning buzzer was sounding as soon as I turned on the key. This evening I will ck the oil reservoir and which has a warning system. At least I’ve solved my water pump system.

I removed the thermostats that were bad and checked to see if water would circulate thru engine. Still no water getting to engine. Maybe water volume from garden hose not enough volume. Will take boat and put in lake and see if that the problem.

Just discovered that the two thermostats aren’t working so no water is getting into heads of engine. Purchased new thermostats and waiting on arrival.
