Mercruiser Alpha Drive Leaking Water in Engine Compartment

My engine has begun leaking water when running from the right side of the compartment as you face the stern of the boat (port side).

Prior to the leak, the motor was running strong but when the leak was note the engine had a loss of power without the engine overheating.

The water only leaks when the engine is running - you can see the leak from high in the compartment about mid way back on the right side near mid engine.

The engine compartment is very tight so it is difficult to tell exactly where it is coming from (Maxum 2100 SR).

Might also be a loose water drain plug.Worked out and is spraying that sides plug wire's causing a miss.If it's a mercruiser v6 or v8, theres two water drain plug's on each side of engine for winterising. One on side of block (mid section), and the other on bottom of manidold.Mine were blue plastic wing nut looking.I think if it were a bellow leaking, it leak all the time boat was in water.Never saw a head spray water either.Feel around for the fitting's and drain plug's. one may be lying in bilge under oil pan somewhere.

If the engine is running poorly, you may have a blown head gasket. I would suggest taking a compression test.

Two things come to mind. Could be heat exchanger or a bellow
