I'm pretty sure my model is a yamaha mariner by the yamaha logo cast in the block it's an older model as it has points ignition I cant find a serial plate and was wondering if theres any way of finding out the year. It came with a boat I recently purchased and although quite old it looks very clean and well maintained in the past however it hasn't been run for around 5 years or so. I have pulled it over after spraying some oil into the bores it pulls over fine and seems to have good compression however it does not have a spark on either cylinders I've found one of the coils to be faulty and currently looking out for a replacement. That's about as far along I am with it at present as I have a couple of other Mariners on the bench which I would like to get back together before I take another one apart . As previously mentioned this looks like a nice clean engine so I'm thinking of getting it really up together and back into service
