Looking for oil rig jobs

I am a Refrigeration/AC engineer by trade with 12 years experience in commecial refrigeration. Is my trade sought after in the oil industry. I would like to work offshore of the United Kingdom are there many vacancies? Where can you get the necessary certificates to start looking for a position and how much do they cost? what is the average salary package like for the position I would be looking for?
