Location of batteries in a 5.4m Haines Signature

I purchased a Haines Signature and there are two batteries located at the rear starboardside of the boat close to the engine. The aux motor is also located on the rear starboardside.

Is this normal. It makes it very difficult to keep on the plane with so much weight at the back and all on one side of the boat.

Is there anywhere else the batteries could be located to balance the boat out more evenly??
