Hi,
I hope you can shed some light on this issue.

About 2.5 hours into a fishing trip my check engine light/alarm went off at idle. I had just run a few miles at normal speed to a second reef and was idling for maybe 15 minutes when it sounded. No sputtering, hesitation, rough running...felt normal and very smooth running all morning. I shut it down and waited but the alarm continued to sound each time I started the engine. The motor ran and felt fine all trip, the only negative thing I can remember it stalled once on the first reef when I went to give it gas.

I slowly made it back to the launch and let it sit for about 15 minutes with the cowling off. I cleaned out the telltale just to be sure the water was flowing and it wasn't a temperature thing, though the motor felt cool. When I restarted it there was no alarm so I ran it for 15 minutes at the launch changing RPM's slightly with the fast idle. Still no alarm so I replaced the cowling and relaunched, ran the boat normally for about another 20 minutes. Idling out of the river, running it at normal speed, idling back into the launch without issue.

Back on the trailer and hoping I can get a hint from someone here.

Thank you in advance.
Frank
