I have a 1992 Bayliner Trophy PDGPR22, it has a Alpha One 5.7 V8 230 hp with a Mercruiser Alpha One out drive. I purchased this boat I got no history on the boat. When I’d take it to high speed it over heats to about 200 degrees. I took it to a boat mechanic and he tried every thing even put a clear hose to it and seen it was sucking air from the out drive at high speed or a good plane. Now is it a problem with the hull or is it a problem with the out drive. What they ended up doing is putting a hole in my boat and a pump on my motor and they are running raw water to the manifolds is that the right fix please let me know.
