How to reinstall a lower unit and attach shifting mechanism on a 1982 Galaxy with MerCruiser 140 outdrive

My father and I had recently removed an outdrive from a friends boat to replace the water pump. Having that all said and done, now comes reinstallation. We have the 2 halves of the lower unit together, but cannot figure out for the life of us how the shifter pin and the forks on the shifter cable go together. Any assistance is greatly appreciated, especially pictures if possible. Thanks, Sean and Mike. |
