how can i start my 50hp johnson after flooding it

i have not run this engine for about 2 years have new gas checked spark cecked comp. everything ok but hard starting help please

Mariner 40 starter problem

Hi all. Was wondering if anybody could help. My mariner 40 in neutral idles for 5-20 seconds then dies. Anybody please help me. I'm so stuck. Many thanks

I personally would just remove plugs and dry them off and ground them to something and spin engine over to empty out crankcase of excessive fuel. then put plugs back in and try starting normally.

or oldschool and throttle all the way and crank it. like an old car .

i would unplug the fuel line. pull out the manual choke on the engine. try starting it on 5 second intervals. after a couple if it doesnt do anything wait a couple minutes and try again. when it starts quickly plug the fuel line in and make sure the chokes all the way off
