HELP! Will my Evinrude controls run a different Evinrude or Johnson engine?

I have a 16 foot open hull with an EVinrude 48SPL. I have to rpower and am considering either a 1977 Evinrude 70, or a 1992 Johnson 60.
Will the controls I have on the boat now that operate the Evinrude 48 SPL run either or both of these motors?
HELP!
