I have a 40 hp force and a 15 hp yamaha outboards and they are tied in to the same inboard fuel tank on my 1996 spectrum. At low speeds they both spit and sputter but at high speeds they run fine. Is there a fuel filter inside the fuel tank on the boat that needs looked at?

maybe the anti siphon valve on the top of the tank that just looks like a fitting connecting to your hose is getting plugged up with some old dried gas. and when you full throttle there is enough suction to open it all the way and allow enough fuel. usually when this hapens it sucks the primer bulb closed but its worth looking at.

should be a filter on the fuel line or just before the carb, check clean and or replace.....be sure to use fuel stabilizer a MUST with the fuels now that have ethier in them
