33hp evinrude idles great but it becomes rough all the way to full throttle then eventually it tries to get better but it doesnt.

2002 225 HO Evinrude hard starting when cold

Hi, I have changed fuel filter, gas lines, oil filter, spark plug wires, spark plugs several times and indexed, changed fuel pump, thermostats, temp sensor in block, air temp sensor. No, codes on computer. This engine just got this way in the past 6 months, has started and ran great since 2002. When I try to start engine and it is cold, it will turn over and then kick out of starting mode. I have never had an engine that you can't crank until you run the battery down. This engine just stops cranking and then you can crank it again. Last week it was very cold here and it was very difficult to start. When the weather was somewhat warmer it started better.

ok i have a 70 evinrude on a 14 foot long 5 foot wide slight v all weld boat. first question is. what will cause it to throw up a hole bunch of water up at the back of the boat? is it true that you will get the same effect if its too low as if its too high?and second it will not start with the switch it is electric start. but if i rap a rope around the fly wheel it will run like a champ. if any one could help please do.

How do I raise the motor when the tilt motor not working on 90hp evinrude OB?

My 90 hp evinrude is in the down position and the tilt motor has quit working. The boat is a 1970 and we need to move it but cannot lift the motor for transport. Any help would be appreciated.

I use this little motor very often. Well all of a sudden I went to put it in reverse and it will not shift into reverse. Forward works fine. What may be the problem or what can I do to figure out what to change or fix?

My 1977 Evinrude 140 HP loose power at high RPM's

My 1977 Evinrude 140 HP looses power at high rpm's (about 4,200)and then comes back up a second or two later and comtinues to do this unless I reducethe rpm's down to about 3,000. I have replaced the gas, all fuel lines, water separator filter, and added Sea Foam to the gas. I feel the fuel pump and filter is operating fine. Could this be caused by a bad power pack? Any other thoughts on my problem?

1996 175hp evinrude dropping revs as i try to trim the motor

I went out fishing and engine started fine and as we were pulling away from the boat ramp i was sitting on around 5000rpm and went to trim the the engine and as i did the revs dropped out.... when i stopped hitting the tilt on the throttle revs came back fine. Tried it a couple more times with the same thing happening, i thought better of carrying on and stopped to an idle. As i went to the back of the boat and used the tilt controls on the motor the engine cut out and wouldnt fire again. turning over fine and heaps of power in the battery. I took the cowling off and tried the leads and they were all sparking fine as well as manually pumping the throttle to see if feul was getting through which it was.... i know a fair amount about engines but didnt want to start taking covers off to get to the distributor in case there are special seals that i am not aware of..... Any thoughts? im thinking maybe the fuel pumps gone......

1996 70hp evinrude hard turn over

Motor started fine when put away last fall. have not started this summer. put in new carpeting and had the cables disconnected on the control by the steering wheel. Now when I try turning starter over it works real hard. spin motor over great with plugs out of motor. like its trying to start in gear.IS there a diagram available to explain proper adjustment of the gear shifter and throttle postions? Any help at all would be appreciated. CJ in WIS

50 HP Evinrude that won't go full speed

I have recently purchased a boat that has an 50 HP Evinrude motor. I have taken it out a couple times but it will not open up to full speed. So I have drained the old gas put in new and even changed out fuel filter thinking that would help, but I am still having the same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else could be the problem?

82 Envirude 28 HP keeps overheating

everytime I fully throttle after about a minute or 2 in my 15ft boston whaler the buzzer goes off that signals the engine is overheating yet the water shooting out of me engine is not hot and it comes out in a strong steady stream..What could be causing it to overheat?

Mostimes the engine will run perfectly and then suddenly begin missing at any RPM above 2500. I've verified it's not the fuel and put a new power pack on it without solving the problem. Sometimes shutting the engine down for a few minutes and then restarting cures it temporarily. Any suggestions? cbwarfor@bechtel.com

hi there i have a 1979 evenrude 35hp this motor runs well with muffs but when its under load it seems to like knock or miss it knocks every 10secs or so under load not sure if its a coil pack or cdi unit the knock isnt inside the engine like a crank knock or anything like that

Had some hose deterioration,changed hoses and replaced filters. Bought new 12 gal plastic tank, missed at all speeds ,took to dealer they said air in system. Didn't take it out right away flood Illinois river. yesterday same thing after about 5 minutes running time. I checked plugs and cleaned,tightened hoses the bulb does feel better, harder.Someone said fuel pump,should I try that before taking on river I don't want to get stranded
