do you need a trade ?

I know you need an off shore survival certificate to work on oil and gas rigs but do you have to have a trade also ?

ANSWER
You cannot go offshore without a valid HUET (Helicopter)and an Offshore survival certificate. And a valid offshore medical certificate. Trades well mechanics and electrical and engineers need trade plus required experience but many other jobs depends on what you are looking at
