Connecting power to newly installed VHF

I have just mounted a new VHF radio and antenna in my Lund boat and need to connect power. Do I need to run a wire all the way back to the battery to pick up ground? YES!!!! Its not a ground its the negative supply, and if you dont you will rot your boat out extra fast |
