connect 2 wire from 90 amp mercrusier to a 145 amp 4 pin connector

alt.. 145 amp for a new chevy trailblazer gmc envoy alt. 2 wires purple from power w/ignition on exite field. red purple from ign to instrunent pannel 12 volt gauge. i was told i only needed 1 wire from ignition to i pin. output to 12 volt on stater from battery, no output, just a draw from engine running what pin should the re/purple connect to? tried with just power to i pin,no output i installed the 145 amp on my 1997 sea ray sundancer w/5.7 engine,i/o rhanks for your input |
