Boat motor bogs down when trying to take off
Mariner 1982/83 115hp straight six, carbs just rebuilt, fuel pump rebuilt. Boat will run great 5,500 rpm 37mph at 5,500ft elevation. If brought down to idle for a bit and then then pushed to accelerate it will bog down, can squeeze fuel bulb twice and it will take off and run fine intill process is repeated. I am suspecting check valves in fuel line or partial clog of fuel pick up tube but it has had this issue for thirty years. Boat mechanic did carb rebuild at shop, could it be the fuel mixture is not set up properly for load?
