Am/FM boat radio shuts off

I installed a new Am/FM radio in my boat replacing the old one that died. The radio works fine until I turn the engine on then it shuts off, and will not work. I hooked the radio up to a different battery that was not on the power system of the boat. Same results as before. I tried putting a metal shield around the radio same thing. This is the second radio I have tried. |
