1989 Mercruiser 4.3L Power steering pump Replacement Part numbers non oem parts

I recently bought a boat with a 1989 MercCruiser engine. We had in for its service and now the power steering pump is just bleeding fluid. The tech at the shop said it would be $900 to replace. We have looked and it is coming from the front of the pump where the rod is that the pulley goes onto. Someone said I could just go to auto zone or somewhere and get a car pump that could match up that isn't or doesn't have to an OEM part. Ok does anyone know of a part number or type etc I would need to replace Merc part # 16792A39? Thanks so much, Jen |
