1981 sea raider water pump?

I have a 1981 sea raider boat with a 70hp mercury triple cylinder 2 stroke motor. It wasnt run in 2 years and i fired it up the other day on 2 year old gas. hooked the muffs up and it was 'pissing' nice when it was running. Now every time i run it even submerged in a bucket with water up to the fin, it wont piss. I have messed with snowmobiles, four wheelers bikes cars but never an outboard motor. Im just curios alot of wires are corroded, does electric power that pump and maybe a wire is to corroded? Or does it sound like the pump just fried from being so dry. Does anybody know how much a pump would cost for one of these? thanks for the help |
