1978 Glastron water pump- replace

My son has I 1978 Glastron That needs (he has been told) the water pump- impeller) replace. $144.00 at the marina to replace. $20.00 for the part. Cost wise it doesn't sound like a major repair. I would like to replace it for him, but I don't even know where it is located.Any help on how to replace the pump in lower unit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ed
