1973 Evinrude V-4 115 hp outboard.

Charging issues. I recently purchased the boat and motor. I first resealed the lower unit, and replaced the impeller before starting it. (as it had set for several years) I installed a voltage meter when I replaced the console, and noticed that the motor was not charging the system, as the battery level stayed at 12.1 volts with the engine running, but would drop down to 10.8 volts when I turned on some acc. lighting. I also noted that the tach was not working. So, I replaced the rectifier, and now the tach works, but still not charging the system. the motor starts and runs strong. I am needing to find out if there are any common, or inherent problems with this model, or what I should look at next? I would sure appreciate some advice or insight to these old motors.
